Project for “Gourmet Typography” subject in SVA that was included in the book Type Rules!: The Designer’s Guide to Professional Typography by Ilene Strizver as example of contoured text.
The contoured text on the right strikingly mirrors the shape of the cornered bug on the lefts. Shifting baselines and erratic breaks in the title further reflect the bizarre, fantastic turn of events in this famous short story by Frank Kafka in which a man wakes up as a bug (or cockroach).
